El stock de capital industrial medido a través de la relación inversión-empleo: estimaciones para los estados mexicanos

Resumen

En este trabajo, proponemos medir el stock de capital para el sector industrial de los estados de México. El método que se usa, primero calcula la edad promedio del capital mediante una ecuación de regresión que relaciona datos de inversión y empleo y utiliza esta información para estimar el stock de capital. Los hallazgos empíricos sugieren la existencia de una significativa variación interregional en la edad del capital, que coincide con la existencia de sustanciales diferencias tecnológicas entre el conjunto de estados industrializados y los no (o menos) industrializados. El análisis de las tendencias regionales basadas en el stock de capital industrial indica una relación creciente de los cocientes capital-trabajo y una tasa de inversión relativamente estable; lo cual representa un resultado anticipado por la teoría económica.
