The editorial history of Ensayos Revista de Economía spans from its first issue, published in October 1967, to the present day.

Three distinct editorial periods define the project, from its inception and development to its national expansion and current stage of consolidation and internationalization. This expansion adheres to the standardized criteria of leading academic and scientific journals worldwide, while maintaining its commitment to open and free access, thus reinforcing its dedication to dissemination, continuity, and editorial rigor.

Each section for each publishing era presents the manually digitized archives of the surviving physical issues and is a joint effort of the editorial team of Ensayos Revista de Economía and the library staff of the Consuelo Meyer L'Epée Library. Its aim is to preserve the memory of documents published in the journal prior to its current era, hoping they will serve as a guide for new generations in their exploration of the history of critical scientific thought applied to economics.
