Self-Archiving: Preprints and Postprints

1. Preprints

Ensayos Revista de Economía allows authors to deposit, preserve, and disseminate preliminary versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, preprint servers, or other academic platforms, provided that the version is clearly identified as a preliminary, non-peer-reviewed manuscript, before or during the journal's editorial evaluation process.

Dissemination of a manuscript as a preprint will not be considered prior publication nor will it impede its editorial evaluation and peer review, provided that the work has not been formally published as a peer-reviewed scientific article or version of record, has not been accepted for publication in another academic venue, is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal or academic publication, and the deposit does not imply an exclusive transfer of rights that would prevent its eventual publication in the journal.

When authors have deposited or maintain available a preliminary version of the manuscript during the editorial process, they must declare this at the time of submission, indicating the repository or platform where it is available, as well as the link, DOI, or other corresponding persistent identifier, when available.

To preserve the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, the existence of the preprint should not be mentioned in the anonymized manuscript, except in the fields or supplementary documents intended for editorial information. The editorial team may adopt the necessary measures to protect anonymity during the evaluation process. After the article is published, authors must update the preprint record to include the complete bibliographic reference, the link to the journal's official version, and the corresponding DOI, when available.

2. Postprints

Ensayos Revista de Economía allows authors to deposit, preserve, and disseminate the accepted version of their manuscripts, known as the postprint, in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, academic platforms, or personal websites.

The postprint corresponds to the manuscript accepted for publication after peer review and the incorporation of the journal's requested modifications. It does not correspond to the final published version, as it has not yet undergone the processes of editing, correction, typesetting, layout, and official publication.

Authors may disseminate this version from the moment of manuscript acceptance. The deposit must expressly state that it is the accepted version and not the final version published by Ensayos Revista de Economía.

Once the article is published, authors must update the postprint record to include the complete bibliographic reference, the link to the journal's official version, and the corresponding DOI, when available.

 

The final version published by Ensayos Revista de Economía constitutes the version of record and shall be recognized as the official source for citation, consultation, and academic reference purposes.
