Mandatory Declarations

All of these declarations shall be presented, in an orderly manner, within the body of each manuscript, at the end of the Conclusions or Discussion and Conclusions section, depending on the type of contribution. These declarations are set forth in the template for each type of contribution that the journal accepts for evaluation and publication.

 

1. Funding

Declare the funding sources that supported the research. In the absence of funding, the following shall be expressly indicated: "The authors declare that this research received no funding."

 

2. Conflict of Interest

Authors shall declare any personal, academic, institutional, professional, commercial, or financial relationship that may influence the development, interpretation, or publication of the presented research.

The conflict of interest declaration shall be incorporated at the end of the manuscript, before the bibliographic references. In the absence of a conflict of interest, the following shall be expressly indicated: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

 

3. Authorship Contribution Statement

Authors shall declare the specific contribution of each member of the manuscript in accordance with the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) system. This declaration shall be registered on the OJS platform and incorporated into the supplementary document requested by the journal, without being included in the main manuscript file intended for evaluation, to preserve anonymity during the double-blind peer-review process. The roles recognized by the CRediT taxonomy are:

  • Conceptualization
  • Methodology
  • Software
  • Validation
  • Formal analysis
  • Investigation
  • Data curation
  • Writing – original draft
  • Writing – review and editing
  • Visualization
  • Supervision
  • Project administration
  • Funding acquisition
  • Resources

Example of authorship contribution statement:

Juan Pérez: Conceptualization, methodology, and writing – original draft.
María López: Data curation, validation, and writing – review and editing.
Carlos Gómez: Supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition.

 

4. Corresponding Author

Each manuscript shall identify one corresponding author. This information shall be registered on the OJS platform during the submission process and shall not be incorporated into the main manuscript file intended for evaluation, to preserve anonymity during the double-blind peer-review process.

The corresponding author shall be responsible for maintaining official communication with the journal during the editorial process, peer review, corrections, editing, and publication of the article. The corresponding author shall verify:

  • The integrity and accuracy of the information registered in the submission.
  • The approval of the final version by all co-authors.
  • The incorporation and validation of corrections requested during the editorial process.
  • The attention to post-publication communications, when applicable.

The corresponding author's information shall include full name, institutional email address, institutional affiliation, country, and ORCID identifier. The journal will use the email address registered by the corresponding author for official editorial communications.

 

5. Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Authors shall declare the use of generative artificial intelligence tools during the preparation of the manuscript when they have been employed to support writing, translation, linguistic editing, analysis, information processing, or auxiliary content generation.

Artificial intelligence may not be listed as an author, nor may it substitute for the intellectual, methodological, and scientific responsibility of the authors. The authors maintain full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, scientific integrity, validity of the data, relevance of the cited sources, and final content of the manuscript.

The declaration shall be titled " Declaration on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence."

Declaration on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

The authors declare that they used [name of the tool, version if applicable] for [describe the specific purpose: linguistic revision, translation support, clarity improvement, preliminary text organization, among others]. The authors reviewed, verified, and assumed full responsibility for the final content of the manuscript.

If generative artificial intelligence is not used, the following declaration shall be included: "The authors declare that they did not use generative artificial intelligence tools."

 

6. Data Availability

All manuscripts submitted to Ensayos Revista de Economía must include a data availability statement in the mandatory declarations section before the references.

This statement shall indicate, as applicable:

  • Public data: The data used are publicly available. They are deposited in a repository.
  • Data available upon request: The data are available upon reasonable request to the corresponding author.
  • Restricted data: The data cannot be shared for ethical, legal, contractual, institutional, technical, or confidentiality reasons.
  • No empirical data: The manuscript does not use empirical data because it is a theoretical, conceptual, methodological, or bibliographic review.

When data, code, instruments, or materials can be shared, authors shall submit them as supplementary material in the editorial management platform or deposit them in a trusted repository, and indicate the link, persistent identifier, or access condition in the corresponding statement.

When data cannot be shared, authors shall clearly justify this and describe the methodology sufficiently to allow understanding of the study.
