Second Era: 1979-2006
From Formalization to the Continuity of the Publishing Project
The second editorial phase of Ensayos Revista de Economía (Essays Journal of Economics) is notable for its vision of consolidating a publishing project with a recognized team of editors responsible from its inception, its openness to receiving external submissions, and the beginning of continuous volume numbering, which continues to this day.
Issues were initially published semi-annually, then transitioned to a quarterly schedule, and finally returned to semi-annual numbering.
This period was marked by obtaining a print registration with ISSN 1870-221X, which it still retains, establishing the first editorial guidelines for authors, initiating peer review processes, and consolidating indicators that later allowed for its registration with digital libraries, databases, and indexing. It was also during this era that the journal changed its name from its original title to its current one, which it retains to distinguish it from other existing publishing projects: "Ensayos Revista de Economía" (Essays Journal of Economics).
